The project will be developed within the module “Design, Landscape and Environmental Restoration” of the Degree in Civil and Territorial Engineering of the Polytechnic University of Madrid.

This project presents the territorial perspective of public works. Civil engineering constructs its works in the territory; Landscape is the discipline encompassing physical environment, significance and sociocultural relevance of the constructed dimension.

The topic of this module is “River and City”, so students will be asked to analyze an issue of landscape in a section or specific place of a river in the urban environment, with a total of 35 works that will be carried out on places of national and European scope. At the same time, it is proposed to map the river and the scope of its work, including elements of Cultural Heritage or susceptible to be considered in this way. In this case, built heritage (immovable heritage). The project will also highlight the territorial relevance, and these works together will raise awareness about common values, reinforcing the idea of shared heritage.

All contributions of students are considered as a collaborative work system gathering all the works and participations elaborated and creating a joint database.
